{ GIVEAWAY!!!!! }

Update:: We have a winner! Read here.

HAPPY JUNE...LACEY'S BIRTHDAY MONTH!!!!!!
(Yes, we celebrate alllll month long here at S&T)

So, to celebrate...
What's that? Free stuff!? For you!? Umm, yes pleeeeeeeeaaase.  I have been waiting for so long to be able to do a giveaway!!.  Now that I see so many of you are reading everyday, I want to give back (but in a way that will encourage healthy eating, of course!)

{{The Prize}}
1 batch of my Very Berry Granola Bars (about 16 bars)- People have been loving these and a lot of you have said you want some.  So, I'll make them for you myself.
2 jars of my homemade strawberry jam (each jar is a 1/2 pint- so you get 2 cups of jam total)
A container of homemade Cinnamon Apple Chips
Recipe cards for all of these items!

Make sure you check the recipe of the granola bar to make sure you're not allergic.  The strawberry jam is made with strawberries, no-sugar pectin, and natural sweetener.  All of these were made in my house, by me, in a sanitary environment.  And yes, my husband and I have both eaten these items, including the jam which is from the same batch the winner will be getting jam from-- & no one has died...yet.  If you're allergic these or don't like any of them, please don't enter.  Maybe next month's prize will suit you better!

{{The Rules}}
1. Comment on this post telling me what changes, if any, you've made to live a healthier life.  If you haven't made any yet, what goals do you have?
2. You must "follow" this blog (Follow link is at the top of this page).

-Optional: Post this to your Facebook to tell everyone and leave a separate comment telling me you've done so--I'll be checking, so no cheaters!  This adds your name to the pot one more time (so you'll have 2 entries, instead of just the one for the favorite post comment & follow) Double the chances!

The deadline will be Sunday, June 5th, 11:59pm.  I'll announce the winner on June 6th blog post!

Here's to free, yummy, and healthy food!

-Lacey

  3. Um, there are 2 cups in a pint; therefore, a half-pint is only 1 cup. Love you!! Oh, and our changes? Lots and lots of fresh veggies and not so much carbs and sugar. Amazing difference. I've only had one of my headaches in over six months and that was probably because of a couple of weeks dotted with "celebration" foods. Keep up the good job on the motivating blog posts! Love them! By the way, I'm just commenting because I love to talk to you, but if you want to send me some awesome granola bars, I'd 'em.

  4. Right about the 1/2 pint only being a cup--but the prize is 2 half-pint jars....so you get 2 cups total of jam. Right? OR am I doing the math wrong? (this is why I teach English)

  5. Well if I don't win then I suppose I do have a wedding in a month that could use some creative gifting ;-)

    Healthy changes I've made in the last year is going to the gym as often as possible (typically 3-4 times a week) & working out at home most every day. I have stopped eating deep=fried-food and cut down on the amount of meat I eat. I eat much more fruits and veggies. My goal is to become even more healthy once I'm married & all the constant transitioning of summer moving is over!

  6. P.S. I just shared this on my wall & hope that it brings more followers. I thought I was already a follower, but maybe not.

    Aside from physical health, I'm curious what we're all doing for our Spiritual health?!

    Personally I think I need to take some time, today & days to come, to just sit & read my Bible.

  7. Over the last 9 years, I have completely overhauled my diet and exercise habits. I lost 70 through moderation and exercise. Most recently (about 7 months ago), I became a pescatarian. One day, I'll cut the fish too. Baby steps!

  8. I recently became vegetarian, not only for moral reasons, but also for health reasons. Nothing curbs fast food cravings than saying FUCK MEAT. hahah

    I also try to cut out processed food when I think about it, but I'm taking baby steps towards that.

    I want to try becoming vegan sometime so I'm working on finding different vegan recipes and alternatives to stuff like cheese and milk.

    Also I realized in the past few months that I was very unhappy with my life, so I made a complete turnaround in terms of my goals and whatnot. I moved out of Catty to New York, since I seem to be much happier in an urban environment. I could write more, but I think this is enough. lol

  9. Things I've done to be healthy? I've taken up fitness as a lifestyle... which is a good thing because it turns out I LOVE running like a crack addict loves crack... Running is my Heroin.

  10. I am now a follower! As for health changes, Cam and I have slowly (i.e. as budget allows) made a bunch since getting married. Most recently, we're trying to incorporate only high-quality (local, free-range, organic) meats and dairy/meat products into our diet. We've noticed wonderful differences for sure and we're hooked! Also, we're growing our own garden this year and really making an effort to eat a majority of fruits and veggies in our diet. I'm also doing my best to go "homemade" for as much food as possible (including cheese and yogurt when I have time). AND, we're working on more vegetarian meals around here, which is hard with a meat-lovin' hubby and a bean-hatin' (ok, not quite, but almost!) wifey! Haha! But that's what we love your blog for -- great ideas in those areas!

  12. One change I've made to live a healthier lifestyle is to watch my portion sizes. I tend to eat healthy foods...but too much of them!

  13. My bad. I missed the part where you're giving away 2, so that would mean you get to read those wonderful words we all covet: You're Right!!

  14. Hahaha. That's a first for me. I can't tell you how many times I've screwed up basic math.

  15. This is so exciting! I love reading your blog, Lacey (and Stephanie!) I have found it pretty difficult to make changes only because I find myself always busy and in a hurry! But one of the things I have changed is where I buy my fruits and veggies from! You're right! They are much cheaper and better for you! I found a nice market that has won my patronage. :) I want to eat healthier and I'm trying to, one step at a time. :)

    Love you!

    Jamie

  16. PS... Idk why I can't post a comment from my blog thing. It's weird. Everytime I log in it "Won't complete my request" Sorry Lacey!

  17. Lacey - awesome giveaway! I've been reading your blog (just checked out your latest post), and I have been trying to start with eating more natural foods, and less processed foods. Your post on the pudding scared me! I always take fruit to work with me, and try to take leftovers from last night's dinner :)

  19. I didn't wake up with a hangover on Sunday....that's healthy right??

  20. I have decided to adopt a more gluten free diet - not completely - but for the most part. I also, despite having no yard whatsoever - just a deck, am growing my own produce and herbs. It can totally be done. :-)
