My Favorite Kale Juice

Photo from Juicing Book
Here's the deal. I like kale. It's okay. I'm not a LOVER of it. But I truly make a point to include it in juices (or for dehydrating) because it's packed full of nutrients. Seriously. It's the most nutritionally dense vegetable out there. It boosts your immune system, protects your skin and eyesight, and strengthens bones. Knowing all that, I can manage to suck down a glass of it mixed with a couple other sweet fruits to add flavor.

Ingredients:
2 carrots
2 apples
1 orange
1 celery stalk
5 large leaves of kale (with stalks)

Directions
Wash all of your fruits & Veggies
Push through juicer
Drink away!

  2. I have a Juiceman...which I got for $5 at my Uncle's auction (what a steal, right? absolutely, because i found out this this is normally around $60...rightfully so because it works like a beast). Buuutt, I just did some research and 2 places on Amazon are selling a similar version of mine for $15 plus $9.99 shipping...so if you have $25 to spare today, I'd definitely grab this ASAP...it's a steal: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B000EYS3RE/ref=sr_1_20_olp?s=appliances&ie=UTF8&qid=1326207580&sr=1-20&condition=used

Juicers aren't cheap, and I got lucky. I don't think there's really anything else appliance-wise that could really do what juicers do. The closest thing would be to just make smoothies. You'll actually get more fiber that way. But juicing allows you to absorb more nutrients much more quickly. It's like a shot of espresso...a quick way to get the caffeine. Juicing is a quick way to get all those vitamins, nutrients, and all that other good stuff. I don't necessarily juice every day, but I probably should. Every morning is perfect.
